Angels of Ukraine and Handball Academy LA celebrate summer camp final tournament

Angels of Ukraine and Handball Academy LA proudly celebrated the successful completion of our Summer Handball Camp with a final tournament in Santa Clarita, California, on August 2, 2026.

The program was organized and operated entirely by volunteers and brought together 18 children from diverse cultural and international backgrounds. Through sports, they came together as one team — learning to support one another, celebrate their differences, and build lasting friendships.

Throughout the summer, the children learned European team handball, strengthened their athletic abilities, built confidence, and experienced the importance of teamwork and sportsmanship — all at no cost to participating families.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our incredible volunteer coach, Dmytro Doroshchuk, a Ukrainian handball champion who generously dedicated his time and his entire summer to training and inspiring our young athletes. It was an honor to volunteer alongside him and serve our community together.

We are deeply grateful to Walmart for sponsoring the Summer Handball Camp. Their generous support helped us provide tournament T-shirts, medals, quality handball equipment, soft training balls for safer instruction, certificates, and weekly snacks and water for the children.

This successful program was made possible through the dedication of our volunteers, the generosity of our sponsors, and the continued support of our participating families. Together, we demonstrated how sports can unite children from different backgrounds and inspire them to grow as one strong team.
