Project “Animals and Therapy”
Animals and Therapy: Psychological Support for Civilians, War Veterans, Their Families, and Children Affected by the War
Project Name:
“Animals and Therapy: Psychological Support for Civilians, War Veterans, Their Families, and Children Affected by the War”
Unique Touching Offer (UTO):
We were deeply moved when we saw the longest line at our event: refugee children eagerly waiting to connect with animals. When we, as adults, cannot stop the war, children find solace, joy, and their own truth in the embrace of animals. But how can we soothe the soul of an adult who has become disabled, seen the death of comrades, or endured personal losses? How do we bring peace to women and children whose husbands and fathers will never embrace them again or tell them how much they love them? The “Animals and Therapy” project aims to provide this comfort and peace through animal-assisted therapy, helping them cope with grief and find a path to healing.
2. Project Description:
The “Animals and Therapy” project offers psychological support through animal-assisted therapy for veterans, civilians, orphans, children with disabilities, and children who have suffered from the war. Interaction with animals helps them feel emotional support, reduce stress levels, and improve their mental health.
3. Relevance:
The war has led to an increase in the number of orphans, children with disabilities, and trauma survivors in need of special attention and support. Veterans and other affected civilians also carry emotional burdens. Animal-assisted therapy is a powerful method for overcoming trauma, especially valuable for children and individuals with disabilities, as it helps them build trust and feel safe through contact with animals.
4. Project Goals:
1. Organize therapy sessions with animals for orphans, children with disabilities, as well as children and adults affected by the war.
2. Provide consistent psycho-emotional support for veterans, civilians, and their families suffering from post-traumatic disorders.
3. Foster trust, calmness, and improve the psychological state of participants.
4. Conduct educational events and training to raise awareness about the importance of animal-assisted therapy.
5. Expected Results:
• Short-term: Reduced anxiety, improved emotional state, and increased social adaptation for children, veterans, and civilians.
• Long-term: Sustainable rehabilitation and improved mental health for participants, successful social integration of orphans, children with disabilities, and veterans.
• Special Focus: Long-term positive impact on the emotional state of children with disabilities and developmental differences, improving their social adaptation and integration into society through therapeutic interaction with animals.
6. Budget:
Total Budget: $2 million per year, including:
1. Rental and maintenance of an area for animal sessions: $500,000 (facility setup and care for animals and session areas).
2. Engagement of psychologists and therapists: $400,000 (therapy services for adults and children).
3. Expansion of the program for orphans and children with disabilities: $300,000 (additional sessions and activities).
4. Support for staff and volunteers: $300,000 (training for working with children and adults with special needs).
5. Information campaigns, transportation, and operational expenses: $500,000 (participant transportation, educational materials, informational resources).
7. Call to Action:
Help bring hope to orphans, widows, disabled individuals, and veterans affected by the war. Support the “Animals and Therapy” project financially or through volunteer assistance. Together, we can restore a sense of security and help them regain their mental health.
